Van Oudtshoorn Farm  (old Kronendal farm)

re zoning application and development proposals.

Some important facts
For the third time in recent years, development proposals are underway for the van Oudtshoorn farm. The process requires public approval to re-zone the land from "agricultural" to multiple zoning including retail and high density residential.

Whilst the ovner has the right to subdivide the properties into minimum size agricultural plots he does not have the right to re-zone for other uses and must have the approval of the public and municipality on the matter plus the endorsement of the CMC without which the matter must be taken to the Province for the approval of the re-zoning.

The Developers
The Developer is Alliance Property Developments of Durban, headed by Mr Win Talbot. A local company  of Town and Regional planners "First Plan" has been appointed by the developer together with environmental consultants De Villiers Brownlee and Associates to come up with planning options.
